I’ve been an artist and collector since a very young age. From crystals to confetti and fabric scraps to feathers- I found beauty in even the tiniest things and kept them for my creations. I began fiber arts when my mother taught me to crochet and hand sew, and eventually learned how to read patterns and draw from my grandma Fran. These small lessons fueled my passion for working with various materials which followed me into adulthood. My dream was to be an art teacher, and although I learned a lot of art skills, life had other plans for me.
Like many, I had enough experiences to make any child grow a tough shell, and art became my coping mechanism rather than something I saw as a real career path. I turned to psychology, studying crisis counseling and managing a mental health office for nearly three years while in college. That time in the therapy space made it clear for me that I wanted to help people, but not in a clinical way. I wondered what I could do that would help people to help themselves, and so I remembered the practice of yoga.
Yoga had been a source of strength for me since high school, a place where I felt safe in my body. I pursued a 200-hour yoga teacher certification in 2020 through Yoga Farm Ithica, which gave me a new perspective on taking chances and believing in my ability to connect and help others. I spent the next few years teaching yoga on and off, working various jobs, and trying to figure out how to bring my skills and passions together. Eventually, I landed at a gym, where I taught yoga to people aged 8 to 88 and worked in management for three years—until the business shut down. I moved on to retail, only for that corporation to go bankrupt less than a year after my first layoff. Graduating during a pandemic and losing two companies that I thought were long-term opportunities for me was disappointing, to say the least. Although, these positions taught me skills for leadership, communication, cooperation, growth, and most importantly, how to deal with change.
Life’s repeated redirections made the message clear: it was time to build something of my own. Frenn’s Findings & Fashions is the result of that call: a space where creativity, connection, and resilience come together. I offer project consultations, troubleshooting, body-doubling, patterns, and finished products. All items are made slowly and independently, with the dream of one day opening a community space where I can teach classes and share the space with other teachers and healers. Every creation, every service, every piece of this business is a step toward that goal.
This business exists because I believe in honoring the full human experience- from joy to anxiety to gratitude to anger. It’s about knowing it’s okay to be scared and taking the leap anyway, about holding onto hope even when it feels impossible. Frenn’s Findings & Fashions is a space to learn, connect, grow, and find joy, vulnerably together.
Frenn completed their 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Farm Ithica in 2020 and graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a minor in Studio Art in 2021. They managed a mental health office for three years and assisted in various research labs while completing their undergraduate studies. After graduating during the pandemic, Frenn continued independently studying yoga, spirituality, and gaining skill sets for survival. Their favorite books, research studies, and materials are shared under the "Resources -> Recommended Readings" tab of the website.
